Pride runs deep for Virginia Paul | Letters | Aug. 28

My deep appreciation goes to all the candidates who recently ran for City Council and for their willingness to work toward making the City of Bainbridge Island a better organization.

I am especially proud of my mother, Virginia Paul, for recognizing that work needs to be done and having the courage to put herself out there. She is an incredible role model for me, my children, and all who know her.

To all the candidates, including those who survived the primary and those who did not, please continue to work toward fixing what is wrong with our city.

The community of Bainbridge Island is strong, vibrant, tolerant, and generous, but our city is not only fiscally broken, its culture and management are dysfunctional. If it was a business, it would be out of business.
