Tom Conn and Carl Glenn Paulino (not pictured) of Umpqua Bank toured various spots around Bainbridge Wednesday, July 23 with a “Free Ice Cream Truck,” dispensing gratis treats to islanders at work. Umpqua recently merged with the island branch of Sterling Bank.
One such stop for the eye-catching van was in the parking lot of the business complex on Hildebrand Lane, which houses Kitsap Physical Therapy and other businesses.
Paulino said the purpose of the tour was to reach out to current and potential bank clients and neighboring businesses to inform them of the branch merger and to keep the idea of “community banking” alive and well.
