Washington State Ferries is advising travelers on the Bainbridge Island-Seattle ferry route that the ferry MV Walla Walla will temporarily replace the MV Puyallup for four days starting Friday, Dec. 12.
The Walla Walla has a capacity of 188 cars, and WSF said the temporary vessel assignment will reduce capacity on the route by 14 vehicles on half of all scheduled sailings.
Drivers should plan their travels accordingly and expect longer than usual wait times, WSF officials added.
The switch is needed to maintain a full sailing schedule while the Puyallup is out of service for its annual mandatory U.S. Coast Guard safety inspection, according to WSF.
