Police have arrested two men suspected of robbing the Fletcher Bay Mart in September, according to a Bainbridge Police Department release.
Richard C. Ogle, 21, and Benjamin Ferguson, 23, were arrested this week with the assistance of Suquamish Police. BIPD Det. Trevor Ziemba said police believe the men were responsible for a Sept. 26 robbery in which two suspects grabbed cash and cigarettes from the island convenience store and fled the scene on foot, after a brief struggle with the store’s owner.
Ziemba said Bainbridge police received a tip that led them to investigate Ogle as a suspect.
Suquamish Police officer detained Ogle after stopping him for a traffic infraction in Suquamish Tuesday. According to the release, an interview with Ogle gave police probable cause to arrest him for the Fletcher Bay robbery. Ogle was booked into Kitsap County Jail on a felony robbery charge. Bail was set at $50,000.
Further evidence gathered led to the arrest of Ferguson, also in Suquamish. Ferguson was booked into Kitsap County Jail Wednesday on a felony robbery charge and an unrelated misdemeanor. His bail was set at $50,300.
