It only took about 20 minutes to remove the evidence of nearly four months’ worth of legal trouble and environmental damage, as a towing crew from Global Diving & Salvage removed the derelict tugboat “Chickamauga” early Friday morning.
The 100-year-old wood tugboat — sank while moored at the Eagle Harbor Marina on Oct. 2 and was raised after it spilled hundreds of gallons of fuel into Puget Sound — was seized by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources and towed to Boat Haven Marina in Port Townsend.
