Health advisory lifted for Eagle Harbor

The Kitsap Public Health District canceled the “no-contact” health advisory in effect for Eagle Harbor on Bainbridge Island late Tuesday. The original advisory was issued following a 438,000-gallon spill of raw sewage into Eagle Harbor on Aug. 30.
Health officials said water sampling results received Tuesday from samples collected Monday showed that levels of bacteria within the harbor now meet the standard. Warning signs were removed from public access beaches in the area Tuesday.
The spill was due to a break in a city of Bainbridge Island sewer main.
