Winter Wonderland
The Kids Discover Museum will be hosting a “Winter Wonderland” event from 1-4 p.m. Dec. 20.
The event includes live reindeer, a gift wrapping station, arts & crafts and hot cocoa and cookies, per a news release.
Entrance fee is $25 per person.
Tree recycling
Bainbridge Island Scout Troops 1564 (boys) and 1804 (girls) will hold their annual Tree Recycle fundraiser Jan. 11.
Community members may sign up at TreeRecycle.net and pay a suggested donation to have their Christmas tree picked up from their curbside on the 11th. Trees must be without ornaments or any other decorations. They also cannot take wreaths, flocked trees, or artificial trees, per a news release.
The Tree Recycle program raises money to assist Scouts to learn leadership, citizenship, and outdoor skills, attend camps, and embark on adventures. This fundraiser is run by the Scouts themselves, who are directly involved in picking up the trees and arranging for them to be recycled by composting, the release says.
