Bainbridge blotter | Not hurt by a little squirt

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

FRIDAY, JUNE 10

6:46 p.m. A 25-year-old transient was arrested following a physical altercation in the Safeway parking lot.

A Bainbridge Island couple, both 18, and two friends said that the man approached them and began to verbally harass them. He then put his arms around them, then took off his shirt and started trying to hit them. The island man was hit in the mouth and head and ultimately transported by EMS for care.

The woman was not harmed. The transient insisted he was standing outside the store when he was attacked by the youths. The transient had active warrants and no home address; he was taken into custody.

MONDAY, JUNE 6

8:05 p.m. A 44-year-old Bainbridge Island woman reported a threatening phone call to the police.

She had received two calls from a Phoenix, Arizona phone number. She received a voicemail message in Spanish, “essentially a death threat.”

The woman did not recognize the number or the voice and said she did not believe the threat was actually for her, but reported it anyway due to the serious tone of the message and to “get it documented.”

FRIDAY, JUNE 3

2:01 p.m. A 63-year-old woman driving a 2016 Audi A3 east on Wyatt Way stopped for traffic near the intersection of Lovell Avenue. A 38-year-old man driving a 2000 Ford pickup behind her could not stop in time and struck the rear of the car.
