SNL comic Kattan returns to BI to help historic theater

Saturday Night Live alum Chris Kattan will return to Bainbridge for a comedy show at the historic Lynwood Theater July 2 from 7-8:30 p.m.

Kattan graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1989. Not surprisingly he was the class clown.

Kattan will perform a “Coming Home” stand-up performance as part of the fundraising campaign to help renovate 1936 Lynwood Theatre.

VIP ticket holders are also invited to an exclusive post-show Meet and Greet with Kattan at the Marketplace at Pleasant Beach Village across from the theater. Tickets (age 18 and older) are $55, or $80 for the VIP event.

Born in California, Kattan moved to BI at age 15. Afterward he moved to Los Angeles to join the famous improv/sketch comedy group The Groundlings. He was on SNL from 1996-2003.

Kattan may be best-known for his role in the movie A Night at the Roxbury. On SNL, his most well-known recurring roles included: Mango, Mr. Peepers, The Zimmermans with Cheri Oteri and with Will Farrell (also with Groundlings) as the Butabi Brothers.

Since SNL, Kattan has been a regular on the TV show “The Middle” along with recent features like “Hotel Transylvania” and “The Ridiculous 6.”

Special guest will be Derek Sheen, a Seattle comedian who has toured with Patton Oswalt and Janeane Garofalo.
