A 9-foot male deepwater shark was found washed up at Rockaway Beach this week. The sixgill green-eyed shark was found by neighbors John and Pearl Keller. Department of Fish and Wildlife microbiologists analyzed the shark. They took measurements, muscle and liver samples, and took out his jaw. When they opened the shark’s stomach, a fishing hook and line were found. The microbiologists then left the shark to let the Puget Sound sweep him off the shore.
