Peltier’s enemies are out to get him | Letter to the editor

To the editor:

I’ve been a resident of Bainbridge Island for almost 60 years and have never been involved politically or held public office. I have never known Ron Peltier socially but have talked to him a few times on the phone.

Each time, he was polite and straight forward in explaining his position. His press has never been warm and fuzzy but what I like about him is his constant refusal to rubber stamp the projects and spending of the group who now attack him.

I don’t condone bullying or rudeness but I see that his enemies within the city, and without, insisting that rudeness is unethical conduct, similar to graft or corruption. It’s very clever, of course, but a clear misuse of the English language.

Have his detractors picked his successor? I wonder.
