MONDAY, JAN. 14
7:44 a.m. A two-car collision near the intersection of Tani Creek Road and Blakely Avenue resulted in minor injuries but no citations.
A 21-year-old Bainbridge Island man, driving a 1998 Honda Accord, was going east on Blakely Avenue, near Tani Creek Road, when he passed over a patch of ice on the road while going too fast to control the car. He slid across the center line into oncoming traffic and collided with the left side of a 2012 Mazda van, driven by a 47-year-old Bainbridge woman.
The woman’s passenger complained of minor knee pain, but declined aid.
The damage threshold was met on both vehicles.
A report was filed.
11:50 a.m. A two-car collision at the intersection of Tormey Lane NE and Hildebrand Lane NE resulted in minor injuries but no citations.
A 2016 Ford Fiesta, driven by a 26-year-old Kingston woman, turned left onto Hildebrand from Tormey without yielding to a 2000 Toyota Sienna, driven by a 69-year-old Bainbridge Island man, which was traveling south.
The Fiesta struck the other car in the fright front tire and bumper. The Bainbridge man complained of wrist pain but refused to be taken to the hospital.
As both roads are private drives, police were unable to issue a notice of infraction to the young woman, but told her that if she had been on a public street she would have been cited for failure to yield.
The Ford was towed.
A report was filed.
