Theatre School to stage Fall Play Fest

See three shows for one ticket at Bainbridge Performing Arts’ Theatre School’s annual extravaganza, a family-friendly Fall Play Fest showcasing talented students at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15 and Friday, Nov. 16.
The second- through fourth-graders’ production of “War of the Worlds” finds a new center of the universe right here on Bainbridge Island. Will Old Lady Wilmuth’s lost chickens ever be found? Will Orson Wells break open the science behind the fidget spinner? Will mankind be saved by the luscious sounds of Space Disco? Tune in your radios and head to the Fall Play Fest to find out.
“Blazing World” is here to blaze trails and build confident, capable actors.
In this work, the fifth- through eighth-graders have fashioned a wonderfully diverse world of characters and dispositions, with each actor wearing, quite literally, many hats.
The fifth- through 10th-grade students round out the performance in their first musical theatre intensive collaboration.
According to BPA officials, the students were mentored by two “Rees(c)es” who are more popular than peanut butter cups: Acclaimed international singer and actress Stephanie Reese made her BPA teaching debut this fall, and Reece Sauvé is widely regarded for his work as a musical theatre director, pianist, vocalist, actor and music teacher for all ages.
Tickets, $10 for adults, and $5 for seniors, students, youth, military and teachers, may be purchased online at www.bainbridgeperformingarts.org, by phone at 206-842-8569 or in person at BPA (200 Madison Ave. North).
