SEATTLE – The Spartans crushed the Cougars on their home court with a comeback win in girls varsity volleyball late last week.
Bainbridge beat Holy Names Academy in five sets with scores of 25-17, 23-25, 22-25, 27-25 and 15-12.
The team played with high energy and unity, said Bainbridge Coach Dominique Atherley.
Bainbridge took the first set, with HNA claiming the next two for the early 2-1 advantage.
The Spartans won the next set, and the crucial one that followed.
“Holy Names had some big hitters but Bainbridge played awesome scrappy defense and were able to terminate in long rallies,” she said.
Olivia Marshall had 38 digs and three assists for the Spartans. Erica Sprott added two blocks, 17 digs and 33 assists. Sydney Maria had four aces and eight kills.
