Past Bainbridge resident Antony Yaeger will visit Eagle Harbor Book Company at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 6 to talk about his first novel, “Smoke Tastes Like Fire.”
The first in an upcoming series, the book chronicles the nightly explorations of a group of high schoolers led by the mysterious nature of their “Fairy Queen.” Through wooded acres and obscure buildings on a rain-soaked island in the Pacific Northwest, inside the mystery of the adolescent heart, magic and jealousy set fire to the impossible.
Yaeger was born in the Altea, Spain, and grew up on Bainbridge Island. After being introduced to creative writing and poetry by the renowned Bob McAllister at Bainbridge High School, he pursued both at Sarah Lawrence College and is now himself high school teacher.
Yaeger has published several collections of poetry and recently completed his first play.
