2:40 p.m. Police arrested a 32-year-old transient man after learning he was wanted under a felony warrant by the Department of Corrections for escaping from custody.
The man was first reported to police as suspicious after he’d been seen standing at the intersection of Highway 305 and Sportsman Club Road for about an hour without crossing.
When approached, police found the man disoriented and nonsensical. He “stared blankly” at them and said he was waiting to cross the street. The man surrendered his drivers license when asked, at which point his identity was ascertained and he was taken into custody.
