A large crowd of revilers braved the chill and the rain Saturday, Nov. 26 for the 16th annual downtown Winslow Christmas Tree Lighting event on Madrone Lane.

Performers from the Bainbridge High School Band, Olympic Performance Group, Bainbridge Performing Arts and Saint Cecilia School prefaced the arrival of Santa Claus himself, who, chauffeured that night by the Bainbridge Island Fire Department rather than his customary reindeer, then led the countdown to the lighting of the tree.

The festively bedecked evergreen will remain on display on Madrone Lane through the end of the year.
