Volunteer needed for city committee

The city of Bainbridge Island is looking for a volunteer to serve on the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee.

The volunteer must be a representative from an island business that collects lodging taxes.

The committee is responsible for recommending awards from the city’s Civic Improvement Fund, which was created through a state tax on overnight stays in hotels and bed and breakfasts.

In recent award cycles, this committee has recommended $100,000 in grants toward local projects.
