Eight Spartans head to nationals

Eight members of Bainbridge High School’s Future Business Leaders of America chapter will travel to Atlanta, Georgia to compete in the National Leadership Competition from June 29-July 2.

To qualify for nationals, students had to place among the top four out of 55 business and computer events at the state-level competition in Spokane.

BHS students won in the following categories:

Business Calculations – Ryan Cox, second place; Management Decision Making – Ryan Cox, Nate Marx, Nick Shiach, fifth place; Sports & Entertainment Management – Ryan Cox and Nate Marx, second place; Cyber Security – Charlie Hanacek, third place; Computer Problem Solving – Charlie Hanacek, fourth place; Economics – Albert Ragsdale, third place; Personal Finance – Albert Ragsdale, second place; Introduction to Information Technology – Sebastian Batali, fourth place; and Business Ethics – Yuyu Madigan, Madison Barrett and Jonathan Coonan, second place.

Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, Inc. (FBLA-PBL) is the largest career student organization in the world. Every year, FBLA-PBL helps more than 200,000 members prepare for careers in business.

The local BHS chapter is a club focused on promoting skills used in leadership and business while helping the community in various ways.
