Mariel Gale of Bainbridge Island graduated on May 28, 2016 from the Idyllwild Arts Academy with a major in film and digital media.
Offering a rigorous academic program combined with a full arts curriculum, Idyllwild Arts Academy accepts gifted artists from around the world for its four-year residential high school program in California.
In September, Gale will begin a four-year degree program at the Pasadena ArtCenter College of Design. She turned down offers from three other film schools, choosing ArtCenter because of its industry-focused program.
Gale’s senior project, “Glass Shadows,” a film she wrote and directed, will be submitted to film festivals.
