Emily Donohue, a Bainbridge High School class of 2009 alumna, released her sophomore EP, “Vices,” last week, and is set to play a number of festivals and concerts around the region throughout the summer.
Donohue, a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who creates indie pop with a heavy jazz influence, released her debut EP “I Don’t Know How to Love You, Darling,” and has been lauded as “folksy, charming, and eloquent.”
Her voice is frequently compared to Norah Jones, Billie Holiday and Florence Welch, and her lyrical stylings are reminiscent of many great musicians of the Pacific Northwest, including Elliott Smith, The Shins, Band of Horses and Fleet Foxes.
The Seattle-based musician’s summer concert schedule includes performances at The Northwest Folk Life Festival in Seattle on Friday, May 27 and the Seattle Acoustic Festival on Friday, Aug. 26, among others.
