Dresel is finalist for MOE award

Elise Dresel of Bainbridge Island is a finalist in the Region 10 Mark of Excellence Awards by the Society of Professional Journalists.

Dresel is a student at Western Washington University, and was one of the Western students who were honored for their work at three of the college’s student-produced publications: The Western Front, Klipsun magazine and The Planet.

Dresel was a finalist in the Nonfiction Magazine Article category for “Toxic Turf,” which was published in The Planet.

The Mark of Excellence Awards honor the best of collegiate journalism for the 2015 calendar year; Region 10 includes Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.
