The Island School’s second- and fifth-graders raised a total of $6,908.03 from their Kids Can Make a Difference calendar sales and donations, and presented a check to Bainbridge Ometepe Sister Islands Association treasurer Paul Carroll.

The calendar project is an island tradition, now in it’s 22nd year.

Island School students chose to support many programs in Ometepe, Nicaragua, including an ambulance driver’s salary, university scholarships, library books, technology for the blind and sign language workshops for deaf students and parents.

The Island School is an independent elementary school educating children in grades kindergarten through fifth since 1977.
