Drivers heading toward Agate Pass in the next two weeks should plan head for the one-lane road closure on Highway 305 that starts at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16.

The Agate Pass Bridge will be reduced to one lane during daytime hours for 11 straight days beginning Tuesday, Feb. 16.

The bridge — Bainbridge’s only link to the Kitsap Peninsula — will be shut down to one lane so state Department of Transportation maintenance crews can clean and low-pressure wash the bridge’s steel truss.

Drivers will encounter single-lane alternating traffic at the bridge between 8:45 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays through Friday, Feb. 26.

On Saturday, Feb. 20 and Sunday, Feb. 21, the bridge will be reduced to one lane from 7:45 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Officials said bicycle and pedestrian traffic will be escorted across the bridge during work hours.
