Quality schools benefit the entire community | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:

Our two boys began their education as kindergartners in the Bainbridge Island School District and graduated from Bainbridge High. Those were busy and exciting years for our family. The education they received was outstanding and prepared them not only for college but for their current careers.

Part of providing an excellent educational experience is having quality facilities that allow the staff and students to maximize the experience.

The community of Bainbridge Island has the opportunity on Feb. 9 to approve a bond issue that will replace Blakely Elementary and the 100 Building at Bainbridge High. In addition, a number of much needed repairs and upgrades will be accomplished throughout the district.

While we no longer have kids in school, we sincerely want current and future families on Bainbridge to have the same opportunities, or more, that ours enjoyed. A high quality school district with high quality facilities enhances the entire island and benefits all of us by making our community a desirable and attractive place to live. An excellent school system plays a key role in maintaining the value of our property and home.

We hope you will join us and vote “YES” for the bond proposal and keep the history of educational excellence on Bainbridge alive.
