Letterpress demos kick off Saturday at BAC

Join the letterpress club at Bainbridge Arts & Crafts at 12:30 p.m. Saturdays, Jan. 9, 16, 23, and 30.
Each week in January a different Pressing West artist will set up shop in the gallery for a free hour-long demonstration, with plenty of opportunities for you to play. Come for one demo or come for all.
No registration is necessary – just stop in.
Metal letter type forms and printing presses will also be on display during the month alongside work for sale.
The schedule is:
Jan. 9: Jenny Wilkson, School of Visual Concepts. Letterpress poster printing for all ages.
Jan. 16: Ellie Mathews and Carl Youngmann, North Press. Going from a cut potato to a rubber stamp to metal type to photopolymer, the pair will offer perspectives on the basics of relief printing.
Jan. 23: Myrna Keliher, Expedition Press. Type in action! See how metal type is set and locked up, and pull your own print on a tabletop press.
Jan. 30: Jessica Spring, Springtide Press. Small table-top presses, or parlor presses, will be on hand for a veritable letterpress petting zoo.
