Best Bets for Oct. 30 – Nov. 1 | THE BAINBRIDGE BLAB

When you’re done consuming (okay, sorting) mass quantities of your kid’s candy, we recommend you treat yo’self to this weekend roundup.
If you’ve already worked your way down Review staffer Luc Marano’s Halloween hit-list, then you’re clearly a psycho at heart. But if you haven’t gotten your horror fix yet, you better head to the Island Film Group’s Halloween Double Feature. They’re playing two classic chillers: “The Serpent and the Rainbow” (1988) and “Body Snatchers” (1993). Both movies are R-rated. Bainbridge Public Library, 1270 Madison Ave. N. Friday, 7-9:30 p.m. Free. (206)842-4162.
The street is closed and the ghosts and goblins are out, scouring the businesses of downtown for something sweet. Catch the cute costumes, spooky tunes, and free cider at Winslow’s Trick or Treat event. Word to the wise, though: Don’t dress your kid up like Pablo Escobar, Cecil the Lion or an Israeli soldier. It’s just not classy. Downtown. Saturday, 4-6 p.m. Free.
Get a dose of culture at BIMA’s Dia De Los Muertos week-long celebration, where honoring the dead is more like a party. Bring a photo or momento of a loved one to the opening reception – 10:30 a.m. on Sunday – or anytime during regular museum hours through Nov. 8. Also on Sunday: face painting, tissue paper flower activities, and Mexican-themed snacks, for purchase at the Bistro. Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, 550 Winslow Way E. Sunday, 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Free. (206)842-4451, www.biartmuseum.org/exhibitions/dia-de-los-muertos-day-of-the-dead.
The Bainbridge Blab is your one-stop spot to get the 411 on all things 98110. From South Beach to Agate Passage, Battle Point to Rolling Bay, we’ve got the straight skinny on Bainbridge Island: the latest chatter, babble and burble. News, too.
