To the editor:
As co-chairs, we would like to thank the Bainbridge Island community for your tremendous support of Kitsap Humane Society’s Animal Krackers’ Gala Dinner and Auction Event last Saturday night (Sept. 26) at the new Clearwater Resort and Casino event venue.
The event broke prior records for attendance (400 people!) and more than $200,000 raised for our animal welfare mission. Included in the audience were more than 100 residents from Bainbridge Island alone. Thank you for caring so deeply about the plight of homeless, abandoned pets. Strong community support is what has enabled KHS to transform itself into a national leader among large public shelters, saving and finding homes for over 95 percent of the animals who come into our care.
