Uglification of Bainbridge Island | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:

I have been a volunteer alongside Pegeen Mulhern on various Bainbridge Island School District committees since 2004, and fully support her for Bainbridge Island City Council.

Pegeen has worked to improve district programs for our students and has been a reasoned voice in reviewing curriculum changes, ensuring that our teachers have a quality framework from which to instruct and support our children’s education.

Her collaborative style means that she will listen to all viewpoints when considering the complicated development and environmental issues facing our community. Her sensible and measured responses will help keep city council discussions focused and constructive. Pegeen’s experience as an attorney, an active committee member, and a parent, will be an asset when negotiating between competing interests and coming up with workable solutions.

As a longtime Island resident, Pegeen recognizes the impact the region has on our community; from transportation to public services. As a city council member she will be able to attend to the pressing, and growing, issues that need addressing for the benefit and safety of our residents.

Pegeen is eminently qualified to help protect what we all appreciate about our island, in a responsible and balanced way.

I am voting for Pegeen for city council, knowing that she will do the hard work required as steward of our community values and ideals.
