A downtown Winslow pizza place was burglarized last week and the thief made of with $300 in till money and the employees’ tip money.

The break-in at That’s A Some Pizza on Winslow Way was reported by an assistant manager on Monday morning, Sept. 21.

The employee said the front door to the building behind the pizza shop, which is used as the restaurant’s business office, had been kicked in.

One of the drawers in a desk had been opened and a blue Chase Bank bag that contained the $300 in till money, and an undisclosed amount of tips, was missing.

The tip money covered the last few days, the worker told police, and the tips are saved and divided up at the end of the week.

The burglary was strangely similar to a previous break-in at the business.

Bainbridge police were told the pizza place was also broken into on the same day, seven years ago, and some elements of last week’s crime were similar, including the theft of till and tip money.

The assistant manager said it did not appear that other items were missing from last week’s burglary.

Police did find signs that the intruder had rifled through the building. A poster was ripped off a wall, the bathroom door had been ajar, a refrigerator had also been left open, and things were taken off the shelves and thrown on the floor.

Police also found that the door was pried open, and the deadbolt had also been damaged in the burglary. The door was valued at $800.
