Development should be stopped on Bainbridge | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:

I moved to Bainbridge five years ago (not because I wanted to shop at Walgreen’s, but) because I found Bainbridge Island to be a very special place.

On top of that, Bainbridge is full of remarkable people. One of those remarkable individuals is Ron Peltier, who is running for city council this November, and I’m going to vote for him. I hope Bainbridge residents vote for him, too.

When I met Ron, I found a person who is open to new ideas and responds to them. He invites participation and honors it. Ron is a thoughtful and strong advocate for innovative ideas related to transportation, environmental issues, development, groundwater management and affordable housing issues that all relate to our island’s inevitable growth.

Many concerned Bainbridge Islanders followed Ron Peltier and the organization he co-founded – Islanders for Responsible Development – as we tried to influence a more positive outcome for a new commercial development.

We need Ron on the city council! Now let’s vote him into office and follow him down to city hall!
