Maintenance crews from the city of Bainbridge Island and a city-hired contractor will be doing maintenance on approximately 2,200 feet of gravity sewer line on the shoreline of Eagle Harbor next week.
City officials said the work is scheduled to start on Monday, Aug. 24 and will continue through Sept. 30.
The sewer main was installed in 1976 and needs maintenance to clean debris that is restricting flow. The sewer line feeds flows into the Lovell Avenue pump station, and city officials said the pipe is not the same section of sewer line that was reconstructed last year.
The project will be scheduled around the tide to provide the crews to access the sewer main on the beach.
To abide by the city’s construction noise regulations, the work will occur between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. weekdays; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
