Bainbridge blotter | No time to relax on Thanksgiving

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter:

Wednesday, Dec. 3

3:36 p.m. A 41-year-old Bainbridge woman said one of three 32-gallon garbage cans went missing after she set them out for the trash collector.

The woman was annoyed because the cans were sturdy and relatively expensive.

An officer spoke with neighbors but no one saw anything suspicious.

Tuesday, Dec. 2

8:42 a.m. A 71-year-old Bainbridge man reported a case of road rage. He said he had been walking his dog about 3 p.m. the day before along the roadway on Manitou Beach when a driver in a small blue pickup truck passed by but too close.

When the walker said something to the driver, an argument ensued and the walker asked why the driver didn’t move over.

The driver said he did not see him, which the walker found doubtful. The driver then left saying, “Maybe next time I’ll hit you.”

He was described as an elderly man with crooked teeth.
