Sen. Rolfes re-elected to key leadership role in Washington State Senate

Sen. Christine Rolfes, a Bainbridge Island Democrat and 23rd District lawmaker, was re-elected floor leader for the Washington State Senate Democratic Caucus Wednesday.

“I am honored to have been selected again by my colleagues to serve as their floor leader,” Rolfes said.

“We are facing some significant challenges in 2015, but I look forward to working across the aisle to ensure things run smoothly,” she said.

A key leadership position in the caucus, the floor leader acts as the point person on parliamentary procedure and helps facilitate debate during Senate floor action.

This is Rolfes’ second year serving in the position.
