UPDATE | Flames quickly consumed north end home

Bainbridge firefighters found a house fully consumed by flames when they arrived on the scene of a fire at a north end home Sunday morning.
The Bainbridge Island Fire Department released a series of photos showing the state of the house fire as they arrived just before 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 16 at the scene of a reported explosion and home on fire in the 15000 block of Sivertson Road NE. The photographs show huge flames ripping through the structure.
One photo also shows a large tree next to the fire with flames spreading along the branches of the tree.
A homeowner was hurt in the fire after he went back inside the burning home to find the family dog, according to the Bainbridge Island Fire Department.
He was taken to the hospital with minor burns to the back of his neck.
The dog was still missing Sunday morning.
