Switch failure causes power outage on Bainbridge

Sunday morning’s power outage on Bainbridge Island was caused by a capacitor switch failure at the Port Madison substation, according to Puget Sound Energy.
The Port Madison substation went offline at 9:03 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 16.
A total of 3,888 customers lost power, PSE said.
Patricia McClements, a customer services manager for the utility, said a crew restored power to 2,610 customers at 10:09 a.m.
The lights came back on for the remaining customers at 10:32 a.m. Sunday.
