UPDATE | Hansen lead grows in 23rd District House race

Rep. Drew Hansen increased his lead over Republican challenger James M. Olsen after additional votes were counted Wednesday in the race for the 23rd District, Position 2 seat in the state House of Representatives.

Hansen, a Democrat from Bainbridge Island facing his second election, picked up an additional 2,157 votes in the second tally.

Olsen increased his vote total by another 1,242 votes.

Overall, a total of 32,844 votes have been counted in the race.

Hansen leads with 61.8 percent of the vote, up from 61.6 percent on Election Night.

Olsen’s portion of the vote has dropped slightly, from 38.2 percent to 38 percent.
