UPDATE | Fall victim’s condition improves

The Bainbridge Island man who fell off a cliff while trying to save his 3-year-old daughter from a plummet to the beach below is making progress at Harborview Medical Center, according to a hospital official.

Jonathan Borovsky was airlifted to the hospital in Seattle after he fell nearly 80 feet from a cliff near the western end of Hidden Cove Road on Sunday afternoon.

Borovsky scooped up his daughter as she neared the edge and reportedly broke her fall as they both fell. Rescue workers at the scene Sunday called Borovsky a hero.

According to a hospital spokeswoman, Borovksy is now out of the hospital’s intensive care unit and is in satisfactory condition.
