To the editor:

We are writing in support of Mike Spence for re-election to the school board.

Working with Mike professionally and personally over the last 10 years we have been impressed by Mike’s professionalism and ability to manage costs while improving our school system for island children.

As parents of two school-aged daughters, we care deeply about our public schools. We moved to Bainbridge Island over

10 years ago when our eldest child was born.

A large part of our decision to move to Bainbridge was the public school system. In the four years Mike has served on the board, we have seen: implementation of the STEM program, building of a new elementary school (on budget!) and the introduction of a new multi-age program.

When we have contacted Mike with questions and concerns about school district policies, Mike has been approachable, responsive and level-headed.

Working with families and the district to create positive outcomes reinforce why Mike has our vote. We hope he has yours too!
