The Bainbridge Island City Council moved Wednesday to fill the depleted ranks of its Harbor Commission.

The council approved the appointments of:

George Briggs for Position 4, a two-year term;

Elise Wright for Position 5, a three-year term;

Sandra Davis for Position 6, a three-year term; and

Thomas Hudson for Position 7, a three-year term.

Briggs works as the vice president of field operations for Ozone International. He is a lifelong boater and a former Navy sailor.

Wright is the vice president of Bainbridge Island Concerned Citizens and a longtime boater.

Davis is a managing partner of ECO Resource Group, and is co-founder of Prepared Neighborhoods. She has previously volunteered for the city as a member of the Harbor Commission and the city’s Ethics Board.

Hudson is the president of Hudson Construction, and is a boat owner.

The council used the traditional approach of confirming the appointments on a one-by-one basis. Each candidate received an individual confirmation vote.

That approach avoided a replay of the controversy on the dais from late last year, when some on the council tried but failed to approve a pack of candidates for the planning commission on a single vote.
