Tipsy burglars flee from break-in

Two island night owls recently took their drunken antics off the street and through the window of a Winslow business before stumbling off into the night.
An employee working a graveyard shift at 3M Digital Sign Company on Ericksen Avenue heard noises of doors opening around 1:22 a.m. Friday, July 26. The employee, however, was the only person on shift.
The employee searched the building and happened upon two intruders in a meeting room.
The two young men appeared to be around
22 years old, according to a Bainbridge police report, and “extremely intoxicated.” The employee could detect a strong odor of alcohol on the two men.
The employee asked the unexpected pair what they were doing and, startled, the two ran out of the building and south down Ericksen Avenue.
Police searched the area and asked late-night islanders if they had seen the two men, but were not able to find them.
The employee told officers that he believed the two men gained access to the building through an open window.
