Our progressive vote is no surprise | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:

The Bainbridge Island Review should not be surprised at the vote on Bainbridge Island for Drew Hansen over James Olsen. Inslee will win here also, as did Obama.

Bainbridge residents, although on average in the high income level compared to the rest of Kitsap County, are liberal voters. The Republican Party is portrayed as favoring the wealthy (the 1 percent), so why is Bainbridge for the Democrats?

This is apparent also in the Puget Sound region, illustrating the fact that east of the Cascades exists another kind of people. Puget Sound is the tail that wags the dog.
