To the editor:
Many thanks to the Review for coverage in the event calendar of the Bee Eaters and Laurie Lewis concert earlier this month. Thanks also to Eagle Harbor Congregational Church for hosting the event.
These amazing musicians played to a full house and left us all deeply enriched by their music.
As a benefit, this concert raised $330 dollars which will be given to two school choirs in the impoverished area of Milawi, Kenya.
This summer, 18 of our Bainbridge Island High School students, three teachers, Marit Krueger and Ernie Franz will be doing medical field work in this area of Kenya. Through Nehemiah International (a non-profit NGO), they will be surveying the health of local villages in preparation for running a medical clinic. Our students will bring this money gift to the Kenyan student choirs.
