Community’s response is much appreciated

On Nov. 14 of this past year, hundreds of people from this amazing community came together at Wing Point Golf & Country Club to create an extraordinary benefit event called the “Party with Mike.”
The purpose of this benefit was to raise funds to assist with expenses related to Mike Sharp’s cancer treatment.
A cadre of dedicated planners put in countless hours of work to pull this off – a feat involving a mind-boggling attention to detail and a thousand loose ends.
Local restaurant owners, nonprofits and caterers donated precious hours of their time and a variety of foods to provide an abundant repast.
Wineries, brewers and distributors provided beer and wine. A long list of businesses and individuals donated a truly wondrous array of goods and services for a silent auction.
And to everyone’s delight, fabulous music was performed throughout the party by the most talented of local and special guest musicians –  including Mike himself.
To all who most graciously gave their time, donated goods and services, purchased auction items, sent donations, and bought tickets to attend this party and support Michael, we are grateful beyond words.
The challenges – both personal and financial – involved with facing a life-threatening illness, have been, in a very real way, eased by this overwhelming response from our Bainbridge Island community.
This generosity includes not only the money raised, but also and especially the many expressions of love and support and offers of assistance that we have received.
We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
