Where’s the outrage towards Obama? | Letters | Nov. 12

Published 2:52 pm Friday, November 12, 2010

In July, young Bainbridge Islander Aaron Covert wrote a letter to the Review stating that, as a conservative, he loved “living deep in enemy territory,” referring to the overwhelming number of liberals living here. Some people agreed with his views but others took offense with his use of the word “enemy.”

Some addressed their concerns with sarcasm and even nastiness – one person calling Aaron an “idiot.” Recently, President Obama used the word “enemies” to identify those who don’t agree with him during his interview on Univision. Why were there no letters in the Review expressing anger, sarcasm and nastiness towards the President?
