Whited Place business is not properly zoned | Letters | Oct. 29

It is plain and simple. The business on Whited Place is just that – a for-profit business. The renters’ of the Whited Place house must be making money in their Auburn-based dementia care home. How else would they be able to rent and hope to purchase the house, which may sell for the better part of a half-million dollars?
Most of us agree that adult family homes, if run well, have a place in properly zoned areas, if they are not in violation of any existing protective covenants.
The renters running this business are in one of the most dense areas of Bainbridge, which also has protective covenants forbidding businesses, “personal” or otherwise.
The sarcastic, flippant and uncaring comment on last Monday’s news by Ms. Bailey about not needing “the drama” in the neighborhood tells it all. Yes, we can all see that the renters of this business are called – by the profit margin numbers.
