BITV asked not to air ‘controversial’ subject | Letters | Oct. 29

Last week the Bainbridge City Council told BITV crew members that they were not allowed to film a controversial subject that was scheduled for that night’s agenda. The film crew was requested to leave the council chambers and return after that segment was completed to continue documenting the council meeting.
In addition, public comment was eliminated from the agenda for the evening. Restrictions on the exercise of free press and free speech are censorship and First Amendment violations when law or governmental action is involved.
I have filed a complaint with the state Attorney General’s Office questioning the ethics and legality of these actions.
