Impressed with staff’s talent and commitment | Letters | Aug. 27

Having spent a few weeks on the job as Bainbridge Island’s city attorney, I am most profoundly impressed by the very high quality of the city’s staff.

Since graduating from the University of Washington law school 30 years ago, I have been lucky to advise and represent some of the state’s most prominent public agencies.

I can say without hesitation, however, that the city employees I am working with each day here on our island are as talented, as smart, and as dedicated to the public well-being as the very best people at King County, the City of Seattle, and the University of Washington.

The economic times remain tough for many of our citizens and that financial stress certainly permeates city hall.

But I would like taxpayers and community members to know that the people they have hired to deliver city services and administer city laws are overwhelmingly bright, hard-working, honest and committed to their duties. It is very rewarding to be associated with them.
