Street-end ‘Pod’ must be a joke on Bainbridge | Letters | Aug. 20

After an absence of three weeks, I was on my way to my Friday dinner at Doc’s Marina Grill when my eyes beheld the “Pod.”
What is this? Is it a giant copy of an overripe onion? Is it a rubberband ball collection on steroids?
Who paid for it? P.T. Barunum’s famous statement about a “sucker born every minute” needs a corollary added. “On Bainbridge Island, there is a surplus and they come along every second.”
I appreciate the need for community art, but this is not any more than someone’s idea of a practical joke. I put this “art” in the same category as “white cow in a blizzard” or “gray ship in a thick fog.”
