Living deep in Bainbridge Island’s enemy territory | Letters | July 9

I have a couple of Tea Party people living two houses down the road from me. I live in quite a liberal town, and I L-O-V-E living deep in enemy territory, because I think I understand the liberal mind by now.
It has been said that conservatives (like me) value liberty, and liberals value equality. It is actually that liberals believe that all societies are equal and conservatives do not believe this.
We (conservatives) know that in between America’s Christian values, Protestant work ethic and capitalist system, we (Americans) have created a superior civilization which no nation past or present has been able to rival or defeat.
However, the typical liberals, because they see every civilization to be equal to ours, claim we stole our wealth, hence, we have a responsibility to redistribute it.
This type of thinking has led to, in my opinion, the worst leadership in the history of man. Whether it has been Jimmy Carter’s appeasement of Middle Eastern leaders, which eventually led to the 1979 Iran hostage crisis, FDR’s 1930s isolationism leading to Pearl Harbor, Bill Clinton’s ignoring of Al-Qaeda leading to 9/11, or B. Hussein Obama’s destruction of American capitalism, liberty and responsibility furthering the great recession alongside his unprecedented lack of leadership and organization during the current Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
All of these failures are why we need to vote out the anti-Christian, anti-liberty, radical socialists come November. We need to vote in small business owners who keep America alive – like Paul Akers to the U.S. senate.
